Society News
As is the case with virtually ALL AM DRAM societies, we are constantly under pressure to raise funds in order to put on the shows every year. Shows are very costly to organise and put on, with hire costs, costumes, production, orchestra etc. Not to mention the cost of the rooms in which to rehearse.
The Society has two committees to deal with this:
The Management Committee. This is the top shelf and is responsible for the total running of the Society. All things financial, legal etc are dealt with by this fine bunch of men and women. Committee meeting are held monthly throughout the year to discuss and organise the annual show. There are a million and one things which need to be addressed all year round, and the Management Committee handle all the topics raised.
The Social Committee. This is a sub-committee which is responsible for 2 things. a) raising extra cash for the Society, and b) keeping the morale of the members high and maintaining interest all year round.
This they achieve by putting on a play in the Autumn and organising various functions.
The latest was a night out at Lalousis Greek restaurant in Dewsbury. A good night was had by all and even gave rise to a new competition: "Spot The Cleavage". Naturally, I am unable to publish the relevant photos but I am, allegedly, open to bribes! The others are here.
